The fortnight poet contest.

 The fortnight poet contest will see three winners in the contest every fortnight(2 weeks),starting 1st November 2020,through to 31st January 2021.A poet can enter three poems every new fortnight,as long as they enter the poem before the start of the contest fortnight.For instance,for the first fortnight(1st November to 14th November,2020)the competing poems should be entered before 1st November 2020.

All the participating poems will be published on this site,House of Money,while the winning poems will be published again on the site fortunes.The fortnight poet award is a popularity contest,and the winning poem will be the most read one,and for that data,the festival patron will rely on google analytics.

Poets will be assisted by one of the participating sponsors,Fortune magazine,to get there participating poems heavily read through mass email distribution,under a deal where the poets provide fortune magazine with up to 20 emails of their friends,and fortune magazine commits to distribute by email a backlink to the poem on the site House of money to double the number of email accounts provided by the poets.In addition,poets will be encouraged to forward an email with a backlink to them by fortune magazine to as many of their email contacts as possible.From experience,emailing backlinks with the right messaging drives up readership of the content.So we make it easy for you to win,by supporting you!More traffic will come through to the poems organically,and through the other ways the sites are popularized.

The winning poem,which will be the most read,will earn the winner a prize money of ksh.5,000,while the first and second runners up will get ksh.3,000 and ksh.1,500 respectively.In addition,the three winning poems will get an automatic entry into the poet of the month contest,in addition to getting a certificate of participation,which can go along way in furthering your career in any field as a worthy extra curricular activity. 

Poems can only be entered once for this award,and for every new fortnight contest,you will be expected to enter new poems,upto a maximum of three.Poems should be send to fortunepublishinghouse@gmail.com.

There is such a thing as narrative poetry,occasioned by the fact that most poets are also story tellers,hence the poems have elements of narration.Narrations to a poem is however a different subject,and involves a reader getting to deduce the narrative from a poem.
