unwanted.

Tentatively, I had given her name as Harriet
The girl who had stolen my heart,
I had described her as beautiful,
Oh yes!exquisite both body and soul,
When the red letter day finally arrived,
When she would be formally introduced,
We were welcomed with great merriment,
Pomp and colour marking every moment,
But a damper was put on the gay mood,
When to address the gathering, she stood,
And without warning said she was Atieno,
An anguished cry was heard of,"oh no!",
For a cardinal rule had I blatantly broken,
Of falling in love with an unwanted alien.
